My grandmother's closet has been a constant source of inspiration, as well as material. Her collection has on offer sarees dating back to almost 70 years ago, which is probably when she started wearing them. Every time she opens up her showroom as I call it, me and my sister grab some stunning pieces.
Of course today we don't wear sarees regularly in our late teens and early twenties, as perhaps my Grandma did-so converting them into comfy kurtas is what I do. The fact that it belongs to my hajuraama is awesome in itself, plus sarees are perfect for flair-filled anarkalis.
Check out my most recent one!

The bandhani style border made for a perfect short jacket. Did I mention how I'm grateful for stylish winter bhoj outfits? Oh that's right, I went on and on about in my last blog already haha!

Went all gold with the accessories, and a gold tone for the makeup as well. Left falsies out as it was a day function, and my mum was already freaking out with how "heavy" my makeup was....
Speaking of mum, here's a picture with her. My Superwoman, the creative head behind this design.

So that was my Grandma's saree again! Here's hoping this tickled some inspirational vibes in you for your next creation!
