Pencil Skirts-Give Them New Life

A pencil skirt- you'd imagine it with a shirt, some black heels, in a somewhat "desk job" environment, or in the corporate setting. Something like the picture below is what I initially thought pencil skirts were all about:
Blue pencil skirt and the shirt from somewhere in Sydney...shoes, Novo. Nothing wrong with this prim and proper look, but let me tell you, once you get used to pairing these fitting babies with some casual tees, you'll only want to go for the unconventional look more and more!
Exhibit A:
I was pretty proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone and trying out - 1, a casual tee with a pencil skirt and 2, the dark lips. This blue tee is from KMart. $5 I think it was. Love it. The floral skirt is from Darling Harbor, boots H&M sale- $20. Chains-courtesy of my girl Neha. The lipcolor is MUM-BAI from Australis' Velourlips range.

I hope you were inspired to give new life to your pencil skirts (or plan on getting one ;) ) by pairing them up with some casuals!
PS: Some of you may go "OMG only works with skinny girls." I really ladies in all shapes and sizes can rock the pencil skirt by pairing it up with complementary tops! Until next time, Anka signing off!
